heat-warning-8-27-24

High heat, humidity and air temps continue in the KCII listening area Tuesday. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued an Excessive Heat Warning through 8p.m. tonight. Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105-115 are expected. The chance of heat related illness increases significantly during this type of event. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool or shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 911.

Temperatures are expected to fall back into the 80s Wednesday and remain there through the rest of the week. The one to count on for up to the minute severe weather coverage is AM and FM KCII.
