The Highland Huskies are rearing and ready to go for a new season of cross country. Three juniors will represent the Highland boys this fall, including Chase Hickenbottom, Braden Zywiec and Jack Krotz.

Huskies head coach Angie Strobel tells KCII Sports that they all know what it takes to be successful when race time rolls around.

“They’re experienced runners,” Strobel says. “They’ve done cross country before. They know how to work hard to get in shape for the season [and] reach those goals.”

On the girls’ side, Olivia Edwards is back for Highland, while fellow senior Jaydee Macareno will join the team for the first time this season. The Huskies’ first race of 2024 is the Hillcrest Invitational this coming Tuesday.
