The Southeast Iowa Superconference slate gets underway for the Highland Huskies and Hillcrest Academy Ravens when they face off Thursday on the volleyball court. The Huskies enter play with a 2-3 overall record, after splitting a pair of matches at Belle Plaine, beating the Baxter Bolts in straight sets but falling to the home Plaineswomen in a sweep. On the year, Highland has 65 kills, 51 assists and a .015 kill efficiency with 127 digs, seven blocks and 15 aces. Individual leaders include a senior crew of Laney Skelton with 38 assists, Adeline Krotz with 17 kills and six blocks, Lilly Barre with 46 digs and freshman Ava Sexton with four aces.

Hillcrest Academy is 3-0 on the young season after winning the Keota tournament on opening night with match victories over Lone Tree, English Valleys and the Huskies. The Ravens have piled up 53 kills, 47 assists, a .286 kill efficiency, eighth best in Class 1A, 82 digs, eight blocks and 27 aces, ninth most per set in 1A. Individual leaders for Hillcrest include junior Claire Withrow with 46 assists and senior Malia Yoder with 28 digs, 18 kills, 12 aces and three blocks. Highland has won seven of the last 10 in the series, but it was the Ravens who were a three set winner over Highland last week in the Keota tournament by scores of 18-21, 21-10 and 15-8. Action starts tonight at 7:30p.m. at Highland High School.
