U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley shared his thoughts with KCII News about the near cease-fire in the Israel and Iran conflict, “Obviously we’d like to see peace there. But the United States is trying to negotiate a peace, but when an American was shot and murdered, and five other colleagues of his were murdered. Our government seems to blame the Israeli Prime Minister for that, rather than the Hamas that started the war in the first place. And I said, “The United States should not be telling Israel how to fight their wars, because we wouldn’t allow anybody if we were invaded to tell our president how to fight and defend the American people.” Israel’s defense minister Yoav Gallant said that conditions are ripe for at least a six-week pause in fighting that would include the release of many of the hostages held in Gaza. He would not commit to a permanent end to the fighting, as Hamas has demanded, raising questions about the feasibility of a deal.
