KCII News spoke to U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley about the upcoming harvest and what words he had for farmers on the extension of the five-year farm bill, “The House has passed a very good five-year farm bill because it reflects the inflation about a twenty percent increase. And we can’t get that same sort of agreement out of the United States Senate, and if we solve that problem then we could have a five-year farm bill. But the Democrats aren’t willing to give on that. Now on the other hand the bill that came out of the house of Agricultural Committee is a bipartisan bill.” The current farm law, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 , was signed on December 20, 2018. It was extended through FY2024.
