Four area teams are represented in this week’s edition of cross country rankings from the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.
In Class 2A, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls are No. 2 in the latest team rankings. The Hawks won the team title Saturday at the Monticello Panther Classic. The Hawks have three ranked runners in their lineup according to the latest IATC individual 2A poll with Brooklyn Stutzman at No. 15, Kendal Landstrum at No. 18 and Rachel Hostetler No. 24. The Mid-Prairie boys are No. 4 in the 2A team IATC poll. The Golden Hawks were team runners-up at Monticello Saturday. They have two ranked runner in their lineup with Emmett Swartzentruber No. 10 and Preston Yutzy No. 27.
In Class 1A, the Columbus Wildcat boys appear in the team rankings at No. 18. The Wildcats won the team title at Sigourney last week. There is one ranked Wildcat in the individual poll with Ty Muniz at No. 29.
Two other runners appear in the individual Class 1A poll. In the girls rankings, Hillcrest Raven Marie Yoder is No. 14 after her individual title at Waterworks Park in Fairfield last week. For the boys, Winfield-Mt. Union’s Kohlby Newsom is No. 17. Newsom was last in action at Fairfield last week where he fifth overall.
