waco-3

The WACO Warriors hit the road for a district football battle tomorrow night against HLV. WACO responded well to its first loss of the season by taking down Winfield-Mount Union last week 40-24, improving their record to 3-1.

The Warriors have a potent aerial assault, with quarterback Clayton Miller having thrown 13 touchdowns this season and closing in on 1,000 passing yards. Fellow senior Isaac Rich has hauled in seven of those TD throws and is one of three WACO receivers with at least 12 catches for over 220 yards.

Senior running back Louden Huisenga is part of that trio and has also been excellent toting the rock, averaging seven yards per carry while piling up nearly 330 yards and 11 scores on the ground.

Huisenga also leads the WACO defense in tackles, with Miller not far behind in total stops and first on the squad with five tackles for loss. Even the special teams are getting in on the act for the Warriors, as sophomore Hayden Shelman has returned a kickoff for a touchdown in all four games this season.

WACO will be taking on an HLV team that is winless so far this season and has lost four straight to the Warriors. Kickoff from Victor is set for tomorrow evening at 7.
