After a week-long layoff, the Washington Demons looked to have found their groove again on the volleyball court after they defeated conference rival Fairfield on the road Tuesday night.
Washington took the first set 25-21 and just kept ramping up from there, claiming the second frame 25-14 before fending off Fairfield in the third 25-21 to win the match in straight sets.
After five straight losses, the Demons improve to 2-1 in the Southeast Conference and 6-8 overall. Washington will look to carry their new-found momentum into a tournament this weekend at West Liberty.
