The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves are looking for a bounce-back win on the football field tonight when they host Montezuma. WMU’s 2-0 start to the season ended with a 40-24 loss to WACO last week in their district opener.

Quarterback Jake Edwards is off to an excellent start to the season, passing for over 560 yards and seven touchdowns while also leading the team with 226 rushing yards and another five TDs.

Fellow senior Lane Genkinger has been his right-hand man, racking up almost 490 yards from scrimmage and eight scores. Senior Cooper Buffington leads the defense with 22 total tackles and three tackles for loss.

Winfield-Mount Union will be squaring off with a Montezuma squad that is 3-1 and can light up the scoreboard, piling up a whopping 68-and-a-half points per game.

Junior Brady Boulton has been a dual threat for the Braves at QB, throwing for nearly 530 yards and eight touchdowns while also running for nearly 300 yards and five TDs. The Wolves went wild against Montezuma last season in a 70-20 victory. Kickoff from WMU this evening is set for 7 o’clock.
