Practical Farmers of Iowa final field day in the Washington area for this year will be Thursday, September 26th. Fiona Harrar will host a presentation titled:  Sheep, Dogs, and Sheepdogs. Harrar has been farming for the last 25 years with a focus on grass-based ruminant management and meat production. Harrar moved to southeastern Iowa to become the livestock manager at Premier Experimental Farms, a production farm with 1,000 ewes and 50 meat goats that produces lambs year-round. She also raises and trains border collies and livestock guardian dogs who work with her daily on the farm.
