The latest set of cross country rankings issued by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches has a lot of local flavor this week. In the Class 3A team poll, the Washington Demon boys are No. 14 while the girls are No. 20. The Demon’s Iris Dahl is ranked 20th in the individual girls poll while Washington’s Tyler Alderton is No. 26 in the boys rankings.

In Class 2A, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks appear in both team polls. The Golden Hawk girls check in at No. 2, the boys are No. 4. Individually, there are four ranked runners in black and gold including boys racers Emmett Swartzentruber No. 8 and Preston Yutzy No. 25 and for the girls Brooklyn Stutzman is No. 16 and Rachel Hostetler is 28th.

In Class 1A, the Columbus Wildcat boys have moved up to 12th in this week’s team poll. Ty Muniz represents the Wildcats individually at No. 24 in the boys 1A rankings.

Also in Class 1A, Hillcrest Academy’s Marie Yoder is 11th in this week’s IATC girls poll and WACO’s Jude Dykstra is No. 27 for the boys.
