The WACO Warriors went on the road and scored a football victory over Easton Valley 44-15 Friday night. WACO got things going with senior running back Louden Huisenga nearly going the length of the field himself on a 73-yard touchdown run.

Junior Trey Edeker finished off the next scoring drive for the Warriors with a one-yard plunge across the goal line, and sophomore Hayden Shelman added a big play on special teams by returning a punt 42 yards for a TD.

Senior quarterback Clayton Miller’s 16-yard run for a score would make the WACO lead 28-7 going into halftime, and Huisenga would build the advantage with a 10-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Senior Isaac Rich scored a TD on a 21-yard pass from Miller, and Edeker turned one of his four sacks into a safety to round out the scoring for the Warriors. The junior finished the game with eight-and-a-half total tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss on defense.

Huisenga not only had a team-high 10 stops but also put up 133 yards rushing on 13 carries on offense. Rich caught five of the six passes that Miller completed for 107 yards as WACO raises its record to 5-1. The Warriors get back to district play in their next game against New London this Friday.
