At approximately 11:44 pm on Thursday, the Iowa State Patrol responded to a report of a vehicle incident at the intersection of Cleveland Street and North Adams Street  in New London. A 2011 Ford F350 driven by 17-year-old Owen Neff of New London was traveling eastbound on Cleveland Street when they made an abrupt turn onto North Adams that caused the two passengers, 16-year old Graden Weber, and 16-year-old Gavin Browning, that were riding in the bed of the vehicle to be thrown out of the vehicle. Browning was pronounced dead at the scene, and Weber was transported to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospital. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by multiple agencies.
