The Lone Tree Lions suffered a 52-8 loss at Edgewood-Colesburg Friday night on the football field. Lone Tree fell behind to one of the state’s best eight-player teams at running the ball, and they couldn’t ever slow up an undefeated Vikings squad that ended up piling up 445 yards on the ground and averaged 12 yards per carry.
The loss drops the Lions to 2-2 in their district and 2-3 overall. After back-to-back defeats, Lone Tree will hope that this year’s homecoming game provides a change of pace when they next face Calamus-Wheatland this coming Friday.
You can hear the Lions play in the KCII Area Game of the Week starting with pregame coverage this Friday evening at 6:30 streaming on KCIIradio.com.
