The Washington County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday. On the agenda was the discussion and possible action approving the construction bid of Tupelo Boulevard Bridge replacement project on the north side of Riverside. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius gave more information on the project, “This is a narrow fifteen tonne bridge that we will be replacing. That will allow for the flow of traffic freely without a weight restriction and will eliminate the narrow width as well that will allow an easier flow of traffic through the area. We are planning this project with bridge funds and we will acquire about this project with the Iowa DOT. It’s in our five year plan with a late start date of next September.  The Supervisors approved awarding the bid to Iowa Bridge & Culvert Repair L.C. in the amount of $278,674.15.
