The Columbus Wildcats have now picked up back-to-back wins in football after they cruised past Louisa-Muscatine 54-0 Friday night. Columbus was in control from the start, leading 21-0 after a quarter of play on the road and needing 19 plays on offense to score a season high in points.

Junior quarterback Trevor Phillips helped the Wildcats have an explosive night, completing seven of 10 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Tyson Kaalberg hauled in one of those TDs and had two total receptions for 100 yards.

Running back Riley Kaalberg needed only four carries to rack up 72 yards and find the end zone three times, while fellow senior Juan Chairez and Tyson Kaalberg also each had rushing touchdowns and sophomore Lamar Ceant caught a TD pass.

Riley Kaalberg also returned a punt for a score, while senior Keaton Clark picked up three tackles for loss for a Columbus defense that had 15 total stops behind the line of scrimmage.

The Wildcats raise their record to 3-3, including a 3-2 mark in Class A District 5. Columbus looks to add another victory against Van Buren County this Friday night at home.
