The Highland Huskies took a 61-13 loss to Pekin on the football field Friday night in Riverside. Highland fell behind 20-0 in the first quarter and was down 40-0 by halftime.

The Huskies would not crack the scoreboard until the fourth quarter, where they got a 10-yard touchdown run by sophomore Garrett Beeson and a two-yard TD run by freshman Caleb Wheeler.

Highland gave up nearly 240 rushing yards and almost 400 yards in total to Pekin. The defeat drops the Huskies to 2-4, including a 1-4 record in Class A District 5.

Highland looks to get back in the win column this coming Friday when they host Louisa-Muscatine for homecoming, which you can hear as the KCII Area Game of the Week starting at 6:30 Friday night streaming on KCIIradio.com.
