An official campaign event will be held on Monday, October 21st for state legislative candidates running to represent the citizens of Washington County. The forum will feature the candidates for Iowa House of Representatives District 92 and Iowa Senate District 46. It will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Nicola-Stoufer Room of the Washington Public Library. It is free of charge. The forum is independently organized in response to the cancellation this fall of the Washington Chamber of Commerce Candidates Forum. Challengers in this race are Ed Chabal for the Senate seat and Anna Banowsky for the House seat. Both are residents of Washington and are running on the Democratic ticket. The incumbents are Sen. Dawn Driscoll of Williamsburg and Rep. Heather Hora of Washington. The incumbents will not be able to attend due to scheduling conflicts. The candidates will introduce themselves in brief statements, after which a moderator will present questions for timed responses. The audience will also have the opportunity to submit questions.
