The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves finished up the volleyball regular season with a straight-sets victory over the Lone Tree Lions last night. WMU won each set by a score of 25-17 to get the road win.
Winfield-Mount Union was led by 11 kills and one blocked shot from freshman Kynlee Buffington. Kellee Milks added nine kills, 11 digs and three serving aces, while fellow junior Kaelyn Townsley piled up seven aces to go with three kills and 16 digs.
Junior Quin Smith recorded five kills, five aces and a block for the Wolves, while setter Madisen Kellogg handed out 22 assists to go with five kills, nine digs, one block and one ace.
The win helps WMU improve to 12-10, including finishing play in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference with a 5-3 record. Meanwhile, Lone Tree drops to 1-7 in the Super Conference North and 8-17 overall.
