The Sigourney Savages had some of the top finishers Tuesday at this year’s South Iowa Cedar League Cross Country Championships in Montezuma. Freshman Brynn Clarahan had the best individual finish for Sigourney by taking fifth in the girls’ race, posting a time of 20 minutes 48.8 seconds.

Junior teammate Ellie Yates was not far behind her, taking seventh in 21 minutes 13 seconds. Addison Yates was 13th for Sigourney in 21:33, while fellow junior Troy Klett led the Savage boys by clocking in at 17:32 to finish seventh.

Freshman Levi Myers also had a top-20 time in the boys’ race for Sigourney, while freshman Owen Grandstaff ran for the Keota Eagles and had a time of just over 23-and-a-half minutes.
