The Highland Huskies finished off their football season with a convincing 43-0 win over Wapello Friday night. The Highland defense got a safety on the road to take a 2-0 lead that would hold up through the end of the first quarter.

The offense would soon get going by scoring three touchdowns in the second to stretch the lead to 20-0 going to halftime, and the Huskies would roll from there with three more TDs in the second half.

In his final game at Highland, quarterback Sage Hartley-Norman ran for two of those scores and had 16 total rushes for 175 yards. Hartley-Norman also threw a touchdown to fellow senior Ayden Havel, while senior Logan McFarland carried the ball seven times for 55 yards and two TDs.

Senior Colten Sypherd led the Huskies with eight-and-a-half total tackles on defense, while sophomore Jose Ramirez had four tackles for loss and three sacks.

The season ends for Highland with a record of 4-4. The Huskies will be losing 12 seniors, including Hartley-Norman, Havel, McFarland, Sypherd, Jared Diaz, William Dunbar, Issac Thomann, Brixton Rust, Isaac Kleese, Angel Avendano, Brody Miller and Louis Horak.
