At their meeting on Tuesday, the Washington City Council held a discussion on submitting an armory proposal. City Administrator Joe Gaa gave more information on the proposal, “The armory building on North Marion has been sitting empty for about seven or eight years from what I understand. And it has always been talked about that it would gradually be disposed of by the GSA, and oftentimes they work with local governmental agencies to acquire that. Last week at the Board of Supervisors meeting, they voted to submit their own proposal. So if the City wants to move forward with looking to acquire the armory property, we would need to submit our own proposal.” The council approved that a proposal be drawn up and sent on their behalf.
