The football season came to an end Friday for Lone Tree with a 66-31 loss to Easton Valley. The River Hawks outgained the Lions 470-287 in total including 325-122 through the air. Lone Tree won the ground game 165-145. Each team recorded a takeaway. Easton Valley quarterback Keegan Lee proved tough to stop, piling up eight total touchdowns, six through the air on 14 of 16 passing and 325 yards, while rushing 12 times for two more scores and 54 yards. In total, five different River Hawks had touchdowns.
Maddox Jondle led the Lion attack with 200 all-purpose yards, including six of 13 through the air for 122 and four touchdowns. He connected with Domonic Garcia four times total for 79 yards, three of those for touchdowns. Garcia also rushed for 84 yards on 10 carries and another score. Reece Holbrook also had a touchdown catch. Defensively, Jondle had nine stops to lead the team, Brody Magruder added eight tackles and Jackson Lyon picked off a pass. Both teams fall short of the postseason with Easton Valley finishing 4-4, and the Lions 2-6 following their fifth straight loss. Lone Tree says goodbye to five seniors including Clemens Swaink, Jack Patterson, Maddox Jondle, Brody Macgruder and McKoy Boardman.
