U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley spoke with KCII News to give an update on the Farm Bill extension, “Well you used the word extension, and I would rather not use that word, but I’m going to use it like you did. Because that looks like all we are going to get done this year is a second year extension of the 2018 Farm Bill. Because Congress isn’t enacting a five-year farm bill. Plus there is still not an agreement, a bipartisan agreement in the Senate to move a farm bill. And the House hasn’t passed one although they got theirs out of committee, Senate Agriculture Committee hasn’t even debated the bill. I just don’t think that’s going to happen, so we are going to have a one year extension.” The current farm law, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 , was signed on December 20, 2018. It was extended through FY2024.
