A Former Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy, 23-year-old Noah Schlabaugh was charged with nine felonies in relation to incidents last winter. Those charges included three counts of Sexual Abuse in the third degree, Class C Felonies, and six counts of Willfully Requesting, Obtaining or Seeking to Obtain Intelligence Data Under False Pretenses, Class D Felonies. Schlabaugh plead guilty to two total counts, one count of Sexual Abuse in the third degree, and one count of Willfully Requesting, Obtaining or Seeking to Obtain Intelligence Data Under False Pretenses.
According to court documents in December of 2023, Schlabaugh raped a 15-year-old. In January of this year, Schlabaugh contacted the Linn County Sheriff’s Office in his official position to gain information about the victim. On Friday, October 18th, a judge sentenced Schlabaugh to a suspended sentence of 10 years, with two years of probation. He will also have to register as a sex offender. Schlabaugh resigned his position with the Sheriff’s Office in March of this year.
