The Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce (KACC) held their annual meeting last Tuesday. At the Annual Meeting, they released sign up forms for the Christmas in Kalona Coloring book. Businesses can sponsor a coloring page or activity for $200, which will then be distributed to roughly 800 youth in attendance at Christmas in Kalona, on Dec 7th. They also announced a new project of 25 to 30 Veterans Banners to be displayed on light poles on B Ave, 4th St & 6th St, leading to Sharon Hill Cemetery. The City of Kalona is supporting this project with labor and storage, KACC is managing applications, and Richmond Ladies Auxiliary is helping cover the one-time expense of the brackets. The banners are purchased by the families for $150. Banners will be displayed from May-Nov for two years, then will be given to the families to keep.  Any questions can be directed to the Kalona Chamber of Commerce.
