On October 9th, ranking member of the Senate Small Business Committee, Iowa Senator Joni Ernst presented the Small Business of the Week award to Barn Wired in Sigourney in person. The award was originally declared in July of this year. Barn Wired, owned by Amanda Snakenberg is a home decor and coffee shop on the Sigourney square. It has been open since 2017 in its current location. Snakenberg introduced initiatives like Ladies’ Night Around the Square and a community farmers market to showcase the town’s businesses. Next summer, Barn Wired will celebrate its 10th anniversary in Sigourney.
