That group includes Leighton Messinger, who has been named the Southeast Conference Player of the Year for a second straight season. The Washington junior led the conference with 285 kills and a .251 hitting average while also putting up 35 serving aces and a team-best 244 digs.
Senior Lauren Hinirchsen joins Messinger as a first-team all-conference choice after handing out a team-high 659 assists at setter to go with 22 aces and 197 digs. Sophomore Layla Green makes the first team after racking up 176 kills and a team-high 44 blocked shots.
Senior Ella Greiner is a second-team selection for the Demons after leading the team with 42 aces and also collecting 166 kills and 242 digs. Honorable mentions go to junior Taylor Miksch and sophomore Ellie Farmer, who helped Washington finish the season with an 18-16 record and a spot in their regional semifinals.
In addition, 13 Demon players receive academic all-conference honors, including Messinger, Hinrichsen, Greiner, Miksch, Lily Brown, Maya Murphy, Claire Robinson, Isabella Salazar, Rachel Sands, Jade Sheetz, Ruby Witthoft and Addison and Carys Miller.
