The WACO Warriors had another excellent football season, and 11 players who helped lead the way to an fourth straight winning campaign have earned all-district honors according to fellow eight-player coaches in District 6.
That includes senior Louden Huisenga, who has been named not only a first-team choice at linebacker but also the District 6 Most Valuable Player on defense. Huisenga tied for the team lead with 73 tackles this season and also had five-and-a-half tackles for loss.
Fellow senior Clayton Miller joins him as a first-team selection after also racking up 73 stops as well as 12.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions. Isaac Rich had a team-high four picks this season and is also a first-team defensive back.
Fellow senior Joel Meyer makes the first-team defense as a utility player with 57 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries, while junior Adam Stafford led WACO with 16 stops behind the line of scrimmage and is a first-team defensive lineman.
On offense, senior Gage Samo makes the first team as a receiver after collecting a team-high 30 catches for nearly 480 yards and seven touchdowns. Senior Owen Wolf also makes the first team on the offensive line.
Sophomore Hayden Shelman is a first-teamer on special teams as a returner after sitting near the top of the state with 28.5 yards per kickoff return and five total returns for TDs.
Junior kicker Niles Reichenbach also makes the first team after missing only seven out of 52 extra-point attempts and going three-for-seven on field goals. Honorable mentions go to junior defensive linemen Trey Edeker and Tyler Rogers, who combined for 12.5 sacks to help the Warriors go 8-2 this fall.
