Washington County is one of two counties across Iowa still tallying election results. According to Washington County Auditor’s Office officials, the delay was due to a software issue that has been addressed. Staff is currently tallying the absentee ballots – including those who voted early or by mail. The 10 precincts across the county have been counted.
In total, 6,366 ballots were cast in Washington County.
The other county experiencing delays is Story County in central Iowa.
KCII News will bring local election results as they become available.
