The 67th Pleasantview Benefit will be held on November 8 beginning at 4:30 pm and November 9th from 7am till about noon, taking place at the fully accessible Hillcrest Academy, 1421 540th St, Kalona, IA. This is an annual fundraiser for Kalona’s continuing care retirement center. Net proceeds will support the purchase of a new wheelchair van to transport residents to and from appointments and other locations as needed. Any additional funds will be used for the general welfare of all Pleasantview residents. KCII News spoke with Pleasantview Director of Advancement Larry Swartzendruber to learn more, “Just encourage people to come on out, we do get the support of businesses and individuals prior to the sale itself, because we want to involve the community and get them behind our projects too, and they do in a big way. Just invite people to come out, there is no charge to come out and just sit and watch what’s going on, but come out and enjoy the fun.”  Admission is free, and meals are sold on a donation basis–no tickets are sold.
