The Washington City Council approved the fiscal year 2024 Annual Urban Renewal Report at their meeting on Tuesday. City Administrator Joe Gaa gave more information on the report, “So this is one of two items, you know we say urban renewal, and the easy way to say that is TIF. So Tax Increment Financing, and there’s two items that we are required to do each year. This is the packet, this is the summary of last year, last fiscal year. And the next meeting we will bring you the debt that we have to certify for the next year.”  A requirement from the State of Iowa for any City receiving and expending Tax Increment Financing revenues in a fiscal year is to complete an annual report no later than December 1st.
