Four Golden Hawks students have been named to the select OPUS Honor Choirs. The students include Fiona McClellen, Parker Thomas, Ruby Greiner and Meredith Campbell. Mid-Prairie High School Vocal Music Teacher Collette McClellen explains students submit their audio files and they’re judged anonymously on a rubric with only 180 students selected for each of the groups. She explained over 270 students from schools across the state auditioned for the 45 soprano seats. McClellan is looking forward to the event, “We go up there, we rehearse all day, and then they have a wonderful concert. And it’s just a great experience for them to perform in a huge venue at CY Stephens Auditorium and to have a great day of making music.” 

Fiona McClellan was also selected as one of the four soprano solo finalists. 

The students will perform this Thursday at Iowa State University.
