Statewide, 365 turkeys have been harvested by hunters this fall. According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, as of November 19th, only two turkeys have been harvested in Washington County so far this fall hunting season. Area counties have had the following turkeys hunted: Henry three, Iowa four, Jefferson two, Johnson 13, Keokuk one, and Louisa three.

Fall turkey hunting seasons are October 14th through December 6th for gun and bow, and archery only is held October 1st through December 6th, and again December 23rd through January 10th. Hunters are reminded that hours are half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset.
