A budget amendment was discussed by the Washington City Council. At their meeting on Tuesday, the council discussed a resolution setting a public hearing for the fiscal year 2025 budget amendment that will cover capital projects that have crossed over from the last fiscal year. Finance Director Kelsey Brown said this about the amendment, “I wanted to explain that the top portion is all capital projects that have been, most of them, are carry over projects from things that happened this year that we didn’t have budgeted in. And then all of the bottom items are the rest of the funds, and I would say all of these came to the council at one point or another for some sort of approval. But the expense, revenue, the amendment and the other notes explain exactly what that cost is.” These amendments included public safety and public works. The public hearing is set for December 3rd as part of their regularly scheduled council meeting.
