Free grief support services are offered in Washington for area community members. Hospice of Washington County offers resources, including a free grief support group.
Assistant Executive Director and Director of Bereavement Services Jina Witthoft explains what the services aim to provide, “My goal and my belief in grief support is validating where people are because everybody starts at a different spot in their grief journey and helping them recognize their strengths going through and supporting them as they develop to cope with that loss. And so different resources work for several different people.”
The grief support group meets at 2 p.m. on Mondays at the Hospice of Washington County office at 948 E. 11th Street. In addition to the group, the not-for-profit organization also offers educational programs and support through one-on-one meetings. The services are available for anyone in the area, a loved one did not have to be cared for by Hospice of Washington County.
