Thursday, at approximately 2:23 am the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle looking at several properties with a subject also going onto properties on foot around 500 Park St in Ainsworth. A Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop, and the subject fled, crashing through a fence and into a field. They arrested 38-year-old Michael Stottler of Brighton on multiple offenses, including eluding second or subsequent offense, an aggravated misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, a class D felony; operating while under the influence, a serious misdemeanor, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor. Stottler was also cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-lane roadway, careless driving, and failure to obey a traffic control device. Stottler was transported to the Washington County Jail, where he is being held on a $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 26th.
