Iowa’s severe drought conditions improved over the last week. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, last week 12.6 percent of the Hawkeye State was in severe drought, that has dropped to 2.34 percent this week. At this time, 60.49 percent of Iowa is in moderate drought and 93.17 percent is abnormally dry. Currently all of Washington, Keokuk, Henry, Louisa, and Jefferson counties are abnormally dry. The southern portions of Johnson and Iowa counties are abnormally dry, with the northern portions in moderate drought.
