Two local girls wrestling teams take the mat for tournament action tonight in West Liberty. The Washington Demons were last in competition at a Saturday tournament in Burlington where they finished ninth of 10 schools with 64 points, led by Peggy Miller’s runner-up and Nora Stoutner and Ryha Wellington’s third place days.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks enter after a Saturday Tournament team championship at Wilton where they scored 182 points, with Ashlee Farrier winning the title at 130lbs and Ruby Miller, Emmerson Moore, Layken Lee and Ellie Callahan all placing third.

Those two will be joined by Alburnett, Center Point-Urbana, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Louisa-Muscatine, Mount Pleasant, North Cedar, North Scott, Pleasant Valley, Tipton, Wapello, West Branch, Wilton and the home Comets. Action starts at 4p.m. At West Liberty High School.
