Applications are being accepted for the annual Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as LIHEAP. The program is federally funded with the aim to assist low income families meet the cost of home heating with a one-time payment. Both homeowners and renters are able to apply if they meet the federal guidelines. For example, a family of four below an annual gross income of $62,400 may apply. Applicants must be at or below 200% of the 2023 federal poverty guidelines, which are set for October 1st, 2024 through September 30, 2025.
