The Washington County Board of Health discussed their relocation to the Orchard Hill Complex at their most recent meeting. Fiscal Administrator Peggy Wood gave more information on the move and what that means for the Federation Bank building, “I wanted to talk about the budget in regards to our relocation and the fact that our budget has always included rent. So we have started a conversation with Federation Bank, they have a board meeting next month. So our current lease runs through the end of June, so that’s all good and well, of course, I’m asking what do we need to try and accommodate for in next year’s budget for rent because of the timeline of the building relocation. I just want you guys to be aware that we have started the conversation with Federation Bank because there is a clause that says we can go month to month, but we don’t know what that costs or what that looks like. And technically we need to give a six months notice to vacate. After they meet next month, and probably at our January meeting we will be discussing this as well.” The board will be gathering more information from the Washington County Board of Supervisors on the progress of the project, but will be having discussions with Federation Bank on a month to month lease possibility. It is estimated that Washington County Public Health will move to the Orchard Hill complex on Lexington Boulevard in July depending on renovation construction.
