Many Washington retailers will be participating in the Shop Small Weekend beginning on November 30th. Main Street Washington Executive Director Samantha Meyer explains the impact of Shop Small Weekend, “It’s shop small weekend which is obviously after black friday, so small business Saturday is saturday november 30th. We’ve got some bags that are filled with goodies that we will give to random shoppers throughout the day, and you can enter to win a gift basket at any of the participating businesses, that we will draw the winner of on Monday.” Small Business Saturday is a marketing initiative created and promoted by American Express to encourage holiday shopping on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the United States, during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
