KCII Radio is working to support our area communities by raising funds and collecting food for local food pantries. KCII Radio is hosting our 22nd Annual Washington HyVee Caring Christmas Food Drive. KCII General Manager Joe Nichols explains there is a need, “One of the last studies that’d I had seen, you know, there’s one in 11 children are facing hunger, one in 13 Iowans, but as a nation it’s one in 11 children are facing hunger. The fact of the matter is we know that things over this last year, you know, have been tight for some people and we these entities that are out there serving our communities to be able to do it to their best ability. And if we can help out and facilitate that in any way, shape or form we want to do it.”

In addition, KCII is hosting our fourth annual KCII Day of Giving Live Radiothon where people are able to make pledges by calling into the station or donating on our website at this link – click here. Business partners will visit the KCII Studios on-air to talk about the cause, staff will conduct interviews with local organizations helping those in need in southeast Iowa and the KCII Big Red Radio will broadcast live from Washington HyVee from 3-5 p.m. The KCII Day of Giving Live Radiothon will be live on air on December 18th.
