The Washington Esports team had a successful inaugural season, taking second place at the state tournament. The state tournament was held on November 20th through the 22nd at the Orpheum Theatre in Marshalltown. The Washington Demons played on the 22nd. After a 7-0 season playing Super Smash Brothers, the Washington team took second place in Class 2A Division 2. The team is coached by Washington High School teacher Drew Ayrit.
