“Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings,” is a famous line from a film that featured a star from Iowa that will be on screen nearby this Saturday. It’s a Wonderful Life featured Donna Reed and on Saturday the film will be shown as part of Christmas in Kalona.

Volunteer Donna Yoder shares a special guest will be in attendance, “It will be introduced by Donna Reed’s daughter Mary Owen. She will speak maybe 15 minutes before we start the movie. It’s a classic Christmas movie that lots of families watch every year and we thought that this would be a good way to give back to the community for their support.”

The free movie is presented by Bad Angle Events. Refreshments will be available and bells will be on hand. The showing will be held at Hillcrest Academy’s Celebration Hall with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the film introduction to begin at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
