The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys wrestling team continued a busy week Thursday, opening the River Valley Conference season with a quad at Dyersville Beckman against West Branch, Tipton and the home Blazers. The Bears beat the Hawks by a 54-21 score, the Tigers took down the Golden Hawks 58-16 and the Blazers got by the Hawks 42-35.
Tommy Miller and Quinn Callahan were both unbeaten on the night for the Hawks. Miller’s 3-0 included a fall and 13-0 and 9-0 major decisions. Callahan’s 3-0 night was made up of two falls and a forfeit. Another Golden Hawk duo went 2-1 with Dom Shively scoring two pins for his wins and Max Howe two tech falls for victories. The Hawks are now 2-4 on the dual season.
