The Mid-Prairie girls wrestling team faces a long road trip tonight when they travel to Cascade for a River Valley quadrangular against Camanche, Northeast Goose Lake and the home Cougars. These are the first duals of the year for the Hawks who had a 5-6 dual mark last season. Mid-Prairie has wrestled in tournaments this year including North Scott, Wilton and West Liberty, along with an event at Washington a week ago. The Hawks won the Wilton tournament and were second at West Liberty. At Washington, they had a 10-11 team record with Gabby Gingerich, Laken Lee and Delani Blum all finishing undefeated and Austyn Sexton and Maya Banuelos going 2-1. In tournament action, Ashlee Farrier has won three individual titles, with Sexton, Mardie Berry and Ellie Callahan all winning once.
These are the first duals of the year for Camanche who was 2-6 in duals last year. Abigail Macke at 170 has four wins to lead the way this season. Mid-Prairie beat Camanche last year 60-12.
These are the first duals of the year for Northeast Goose Lake. Clair Brown is 7-6 at 145lbs and Skylar Wegener is 5-1 at 235 to lead the Rebels.
The home team Cascade was is 0-3 in duals so far this year. Carly Maternach leads the Cougars with a 16-5 record at 135lbs. Action starts tonight at 5:30p.m. At Cascade High School.
