Two local boys wrestling teams were on the mat for tournament action Saturday in New London at the Jeremy Fulk Classic. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks were fourth of eight teams with 121 points. Fort Madison won the team title with 171. Burke Berry brought home gold for the Hawks at heavyweight, pinning his way to the title with a 3-0 day, including a fall over Aaron Warner of Fort Madison in the title bout in 1:21. Other top Hawks included seconds for Mason Howe at 144lbs and Josh Turner at 175 and third place each for Max Howe at 138, Max Kipp at 157 and Tommy Miller at 215.
Lone Tree was seventh with 72 points. The Lions had one champ on the day with Trenton McKean winning at 106 with a 2-0 day and fall over in 90 seconds over Tyler Kmosena of Medford, Wisconsin in the championship match. Cole Walmsley was second at 113.
