The Washington YMCA held its grand opening of the new aquatic center on December 10th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A ribbon cutting was held at 5 p.m. and there were family activities at 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30 p.m. There were also facility tours throughout the evening. KCII spoke with Executive Director Amy Schulte leading up to the opening, “We sent out over 400 invitations, we are expecting a huge crowd. We know everyone is just as excited as we are to dive right into it.” The pool is officially open to members and donors, but registration for classes and swimming times is required. You can find more information about the aquatic center on the YMCA of Washington County website.
