The City of Washington will have staff providing assistance with disposal of tree debris after the Saturday ice storm. The yard waste site at the Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 1065 W. Buchanan Street is open for the public to drop off tree debris from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Public Works crews will conduct a one-time curbside yard waste pickup beginning on Wednesday, December 18th, at 7 a.m. The following guidelines will apply: only tree limbs will be picked up, no leaves, garbage, or household debris; and tree limbs should be placed on the curb no later than 7 a.m. Wednesday. Crews will begin in the northwest quadrant of the city on Wednesday morning and will work in a counterclockwise direction, ending in the northeast quadrant. Crews will only conduct this complimentary service once. Tree debris should not be in the street or blocking traffic.
